but now, we’ll never know

It would’ve been a joyous MLK Day in D.C.

The first Jamaican/South Asian woman president coming home

Celebrations of all that we can be

But now, we’ll never know

We could’ve had a Supreme Court not bought and sold

A President not vindictive and old

A White House couple not distant and cold

But now, we’ll never know

Latino men voting for someone who detests them

Police immunity and no one will arrest them

Kamala promised small business investments

But now, we’ll never know

He told you he’d fix the election, and I quote,

“You won’t even have to vote.”

Russian interference may have strangled hope

But now, we’ll never know

Biden’s gains will show up on Trump’s watch

And you’ll say, look, Trump is top notch

It’s always two terms to see what we’ve got

But now, we’ll never know

All elections have consequences

His only motivation is vengeance

Which you’ll like, until you’re within it

But now, we’ll never know

And y’all will get quiet once this starts to blow

Though we warned you loudly and you said no

Project 2025 will bleed you slow

Father forgive them, they still don’t know
